The youth from the PPR community are often not exposed to the digital world of the society. Be it from time constraint or the lack of exposure.
This can be classified as a big problem due to the nature of the world’s globalization, where being tech savvy is a must. Especially due to COVID-19 where everything is done through the internet, hence why youths must be able to know how to use the electronic media wisely.
The Solution
The Beyond Bins project strives for a sustainable and circular economy by connecting corporate players, the underserved communities, and Biji-Biji Initiative partners.
This project works on small-scale plastic recycling which also benefits the B40 communities by providing an additional stream of income for them. Small-scale plastic waste recycling machines are provided to the communities to produce recycled products after a period of training and guidance. The plastic can either be shredded and sold to recyclers or created into new products that can be sold on both physical and digital platforms.
The communities will stand to gain through educational programs and awareness to instill a sustainability mindset.
Me.Reka Belia did a good job by providing the basic needs for the participants to allow them in growing better for the future. The Workshop participate by youth ranging from SPM leavers to young adults from the PPR community.
The organization gave out micro-funds and tablets to the participants in hoping they’ll be able to adapt with the globalization of the world. Also it gives them the opportunity to launch their own online business.

Launched in 2000, PPR Lembah Subang is an apartment complex located in Selangor, equipped with a community centre and a mosque. As one of the most occupied residential PPR in Selangor, this PPR houses 12,016 residents from 3,004 units.
